  1. Domestic dogs are subspecies of the Grey Wolf.

  4. They were primarily used for guarding areas of land and to assist and guard hunters.
  5. They are one of the most preferred household pets throughout the world.
  6. They have soft padded feet which make them quick and quiet runners.
  7. Their sharp, strong claws give them great grip while running.
  8. Their paws and teeth are smaller than those of wolves.
  9. Their specialized teeth help them tear and bite meat.
  10. Their baby teeth shed at 4 months after which, stronger permanent teeth grow.
  11. They are carnivores mainly feeding on animal matter.
  12. On an average they live to be around 15 years old.
